Mission:

The Plymouth Elementary School Enrichment Initiative seeks to expand academic opportunities for every child. This will be achieved through collaboration of staff, parents and community by exploring all available resources. The Enrichment Initiative promotes an environment that presents challenges, cultivates passion and nurtures lifelong learning in a global society.

Math Masters:

A hands-on math project initiated last year in the intermediate wing (3rd, 4th & 5th). Students in these grades are mixed across grade and ability, allowing for peer teaching and problem solving. Math Masters is a collaboration between teachers and parents. Contact Joe Ebner (536-4964) if you would like to volunteer.

Write On!

This is a new program being designed to encourage middle school students to take risks with their writing. Faculty members will be paired with community volunteers who have a passion or expertise with writing. Each pair will work with small groups on a variety of writing projects. The Write On! Program will run for eight sessions in February and March. Contact Kelli Thompson (536-2519) for more information.

Ongoing Work:

A small group of individuals are working on a science enrichment opportunity for the primary wing. There is also work being done on creating a non-profit entity that will allow the group to apply for grants and to fundraise locally. We would love to have more help, input and volunteers, please come lend a hand.

Meeting Schedule:
The meeting schedule for the enrichment committee is the first Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm in the PES Media Center. Please contact Tonia Orlando if you are interested or have questions.
